Dear Subscriber First Name,The 3rd Annual NSMTA National Cat III Doubles Championship in Naples, FL is just around the corner January 7-11th (the entry deadline is December 29th). In 2019, we added some player friendly new features. At the urging of players, we added playoff flights for the second and third place finishers in each RR group which will give most players up to five matches. Then to recognize some of the long-time players (see below for winners) who have made a significant contribution to senior tennis, we established perpetual trophies in their honor. Now for 2020, the tournament will be 5 days instead of 4 and starting a day earlier on Tuesday. This way we can have one match a day starting in the afternoons. For fellowship we will continue to host Happy Hours at the end of play Tuesday to Friday with free drinks and snacks. Last year the tournament was given Cat III status and top finishers receive points, prize money and trophies. Lastly, we believe the Round Robin format for doubles is greatly improving the player tournament experience. In Florida we have Longboat Key, World Tennis, Sanchez/Casals & St. Pete all using the format with more to come. So, join us to start 2020 and support the NSMTA National Doubles at the Sanchez/Casals Naples Bath & Tennis Club in warm Naples, Florida. Who knows, you might just get your name on the trophy for years to come.
